Principal

Ms. Latchison is a proud product of Waco ISD, having attended its schools from 1st through 12th grade, culminating in her graduation from Waco High School. Her commitment to education began with a bachelor of science in education from Baylor University and was strengthened with a master of education in teacher leadership and principal certification from Lamar University.

Her professional journey demonstrates a powerful foundation in public education. For eight years, Ms. Latchison served as the principal of the former Brazos High Credit Recovery. During this time, she successfully maintained a strong accountability rating for an alternative campus with a 100% at-risk student population, which is a testament to her ability to implement systematic processes and data-driven interventions.

In other leadership roles, Ms. Latchison served as an Assistant Principal at Waco High School for four years, and most recently served as the Director of Credit Recovery Systems for the district, managing robust programs at both Waco High School and University High School.

Prior to her administration experience, Ms. Latchison taught at the elementary level both locally at Waco and Killeen ISDs, and overseas at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, specializing in reading intervention and grade-level instruction for 3rd through 5th grades.

Her expertise spans strategic planning, community outreach, data tracking and analysis, and responsive program design, all of which are essential to fostering an engaging and supportive elementary school environment.
